Cambridge 9609 Business Notes and Written Practice Are Live on EIE
Excel in Economics now includes Cambridge International AS & A Level Business (9609) in the Student Portal.
This is more than a folder of static notes: it connects the syllabus, explanations and real written practice in one revision flow.
What students can use now
The AS course covers the complete syllabus structure across enterprise, human resources, marketing, operations and finance.
The A Level build then moves into the strategic material needed for the later papers, including business strategy, HR strategy, marketing strategy, operations and finance.
Notes mapped to the syllabus
Every page is mapped against the current 9609 syllabus rather than broad textbook chapters. That means students can see exactly what they need to know and avoid revising content that belongs somewhere else.
Where a topic benefits from a diagram or numerical example, the explanation teaches the underlying method; additional diagram images are still being completed.
Practice attached to the topic
The biggest difference is the practice bank.
Instead of learning a topic and then searching through years of exam papers for a relevant question, the portal maps practice back to the syllabus area it tests.
For AS, this includes Paper 1 and Paper 2 question parts across the syllabus. For A Level, the build includes extended strategy questions from Paper 4 with the business case and marking criteria kept intact.
Honest self-marking for essays
Longer Business answers do not have one perfect model response. Cambridge mark schemes often reward different valid lines of reasoning when they are supported by the case.
For that reason, the written-answer experience uses self-marking against the official criteria and indicative content rather than pretending an automated score is unquestionably correct.
Students should be able to ask: Did I use the case? Did I analyse the consequence? Did I consider the main counterargument? Is my recommendation actually justified?
Built for the revise-practise-repeat loop
The revision flow is simple:
learn the concept;
answer a relevant question;
compare your reasoning;
return to the weak section;
try again.
That is the habit that improves exam performance.
Available now in the Student Portal
Cambridge 9609 is live inside EIE's Student Portal with all 34 notes pages and 348 written question parts across Papers 1, 2 and 4. Paper 3 remains unavailable because its separate case-study inserts are missing, and some supplementary diagrams are still being completed.
The Business section sits alongside the existing Excel in Economics subjects in the Student Portal.
If you study Cambridge 9609, the notes and written-practice section is ready to use now.
